helping hands!

donate!

Tegan and I are both so sad about the devastation and suffering in Haiti. We’d love to help raise money and because we are on tour we’d like to utilize our merchandise sales! You’ve always been a tremendously supportive fan base and we can always count on selling zillions of pins and posters and t-shirts and hoodies. To help us, all you are going to have to do is continue to be as generous as you’ve been all month long on this Canadian tour. We are going to donate all of the money made from sales of all three posters (above) for our entire Canadian tour. We have a big number goal in mind, and we know you can help us meet it! We appreciate your support in advance, and to those of you who have already seen us perform and purchased any of the posters, we’re twice as thankful now, knowing we can put those funds towards helping the people of haiti.

take care of yourselves!

Dear Friends,

Its our day off! But we still wanted to post something for you. So as we were
leaving the studio tonight (Saturday) I put together this post.
We had a late night brainstorm session to come up with an album title and
here were the names Howard, Chris, Emy, Lindsey, Sara and I came up
with: (I’ll leave who actually came up with what to your imaginations)

1. Nancy Piaggione
2. Head Phones On A Pole
3. Burning the Midnight Owl
4. Green Lamp Shade Overhead
5. This is Not a Game of I Spy
6. Crantanamous
7. Pixels
8. Burning the Midnight Owl
9. Fish Lips
10. Lids
11. Lidless
12. Inappropriate Touching

At this point I got upset, canceled the brainstorm session and sent everyone
home. It was pointless anyway as we already know the title. Oh yeah. That’s right. We’re
now officially holding out on you.

Happy Sunday,

Your friend, Tegan

(SORT OF) STALKING ON SATURDAYS

It’s Saturday- I am writing this at 3:42pm.

On Saturdays when Sara and I were kids my dad would pick us up at 11am.  Some weekends we would go to the mall with him and help lost children find their parents, or read the paper and eat A&W, while other times our dad would take us to 7-11 or the Airport and we would make up stories about strangers, eventually settling on someone who looked interesting and then we would follow them home. Or close to it. I know this sounds insane. It’s not as crazy or weird as it sounds. And I’m sure my father’s memory of these activities is much less illegal sounding. Then Saturday afternoons we would get back to my dad’s apartment with groceries and movies and settle in for an evening of TV/Movies and couch lounging. No matter the evening’s activities, each weekend we would eventually watch War of the Worlds, Golden Girls and Empty Nest. In that order. I don’t remember ever eating a vegetable or a fruit while at my dad’s, which did not bother me one bit. So even now at the ripe old age of 28 I still associate Saturdays with: errands, movies, TV, fries and fish sticks from a box.

Today Chris horrified us all by continuing the very dangerous trend of adding Cheese Balls to his Vegan Chili. When will the Cheese Balls run out?????!!!!!

Can this still be considered a vegan lunch?

Lindsey Byrnes is visiting and she and I spent the morning belly button deep in book edits. We’re expecting a visit from Emy Storey today and hope to wrap up the books this week. In the coming weeks we will have updates and exciting news about when you can get the books!!!!

proof it!

It’s a relaxed day in the studio. Saturdays have that effect. While none of us can run errands, see a movie or lay on the couch watching Dune, this evening we will be here, making music and eating cheese balls. Almost as good. Almost.

IN RESPONSE TO PUFFS COVERED IN CHEESE

dear cheese puffs,

i’m really sick today because of how many of you i ate last night. Mr. Chris is always bringing snacks here, trying to raise our spirits with his “healthy” choices. first it was donuts, and now this. you melt in my mouth, but you leave my intestines orange. i hate you. i curse you for showing me once again that i have no self control when it comes to ingesting junk food. today, i cleansed myself with a salad and an apple. but nothing tastes the same now that i’ve had your fake cheese goodness. i hid you in a spare room so that Mr. Chris wouldn’t bring you back to test me. I’m half human half cheese puff now.

TEGAN IN A BOTTLE – Day 3 million

teganthroughbottle

tegan is drowning in there, we must save her

Today we were a little lost in keyboard world. There was a point where I lost the will to do what we were doing.
Sometimes making a record is harder than I remember it. Even though we have done this 5 times previous,
I care so much about how this one turns out that I think my brain is turning to mush earlier and earlier in the day.
Or its the Allegra I took this morning. Who knows!

Sara started vocals on a song today. I can’t tell you the title but I can tell you that you’ll love the song.
Its VERY different than anything Sara has done, or me for that matter. Think Cassie. Then think, Bahamas.

We trust you are all safe and well,

See you tomorrow.
